Say hello to my new band, BANGBANGBOOM: photo by John Powers, taken at Nouveau Antique Art Bar (click to visit) UNTOUCHABLE THURSDAYS at NOUVEAU: Local Music Stars Announce New Band, New Residency Runaway Sun front man Andrew Karnavas and Houston Press Local Entertainer/Bassist of the Year Nick Gaitan of The Umbrella Man present BANGBANGBOOM, a blues, jazz and swing cover band highlighting the major musical influences of the band’s four members, reaching back to the 40’s and 50’s. Joining Karnavas and Gaitan is Bart Maloney on pedal steel, longtime band mate of Gaitan in The Umbrella Man and sessions player on Karnavas’ solo album.  “Our original styles run the gamut and pull from multiple genres and moments in music history, and when we put them all together they create a dynamic band that the public will enjoy,” Karnavas says.  The band will kick off its weekly Untouchable Thursdays residency (8-11pm) January 6, 2011, at Nouveau Antique Art Bar.
